  • Fire remains/Ash

Since i started tidying up the lottie in december i've been burning all the old timber lying around the plot and i've also burnt all the ivy,all the dry grass i pulled up and the big tree (still burning that) and i've been told that all the ash i have mounted up on the bit of spare land next to the lottie can be used as a fertilizer( Pot ash ) ! True or false? what do i do with it fork it in add it to my water butts?

i dug all my ash from the bonfire area into the veg beds before i planted in them, doesn't seem to have caused a problem.

It's good for fruit bushes and never seems to do onions any harm either. I'd be a bit wary if it was coal ash or from timber treated with paint or preservatives, but otherwise, sprinkle it on.
