    Explain my garlic

    All the white (apart from the pic) came up lovely, all the red did variations on the theme of the pic.

    Planted in autumn, harvested today. Fair growth of weed on the plot. I think the red got more competition than the white.

    My over wintered onion sets don't look much better, maybe we had poor conditions for growing?

      Is that a whole bulb? It looks like they've been in the ground too long and split?

        It has been sitting there a bit too long, so maybe that's it.

          This year has been a strange one. With inconsistent watering as the weather goes through dry spells and wet spells and with it going cool, warm, cool the garlic doesn't know what it's doing.
