I have loads and loads of little aubergines growing on my plant in the greenhouse. I have started removing new flowers to stop any more, 'cos I read somewhere you're supposed to only let about 5 fruits develop per plant. If I remove any of the 'babies' (they're about 6cm long) can we eat them?

Sweetcorn I'm so jealous. I've got loads of flowers on my 2 aubergine plants, but no fruit yet. I'm trying to be patient, but what's your secret? Everything else in the greenhouse has loads of fruit this year, the plants are looking nice and healthy, just won't set fruit.Life is too short for drama & petty things!

hi sweetcorn. i was wondering what colour they are. are they still green or are they purple yet. if they are purple id give one a go. My aubergines are about the size of a pea so i have hope for them yet.Comment

You can eat them if you're lucky Sweetcorn. Mine are making nothing but flowers. So jealous.

Hadn't realised how lucky I was! Don't know what I've done - started them off indoors in about March, planted it straight into its pot at the end of April, I think. It's in my greenhouse (unheated). The variety I thought was moneymaker - but it's obviously not. Must go and check the seed packet if I can find it. You can see how organised I am! The fruits are white with purple streaks all down them. Very pretty. I know I had several packets, but can't remember which one I used ......Comment

Do they look like these sweetcorn? These are calliope f1, we've already had a couple off the plant when the weather was good earlier.
We've shorn it of some leaves as it was getting whitefly/greenfly.To see a world in a grain of sand

wow, sounds like you've done really well. 'Only' 5 per plant! Mine are only just flowering.
Last year I had 2 from outdoor plants that managed to go purple before the plants gave up, they were fine.Comment
