  • Best time of day to transplant veggies?

Does it matter if I transplant my courgettes in the full heat or in the cool evening? Is one better than the other?

I'd say end of day so you won't be scortching them when you water them in!
The shock will be less too.

Cool of the evening here too. Just bunged mine in mid heatwave in mid morning without thinking this year and it had to have a lie down for a while.

Whenever it's cool is the answer, a day like today I've been planting all day, but we've had cloudcover all day.
As the others said, a hot day it's wise not to do it till the sun is almost down.
The only problem is that when you water in, the slugs seem to have some radar that tells them of new prey in the playground, so take precautions

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.
