  • Anyone else yet to grow any beans?

Hopefully going to sow some tonight - but my runner beans (White Apollo) didn't germinate, so I feel I'm lagging behind.

The White Apollo were self saved from last year - just didn't happen.

Getting twitchy now. It's that time of year again.

Sweetie - I only sowed a load at the weekend.

Chillax. It's only just stopped frosting.

I've not even sown p*****ps or carrots yet; and have had to dig out all the spuds, snap off the growth and replant due to manure contamination. So starting from scratch there. And all the onions are being moved [as we speak] so they will be set back.

I hope we have a late first frost this year or I'm stuffed.

Just realised - does Janeane know she has a bean named after her. I bet she'd be stoked!

Mine are sitting there thinking about germinating. All the self saved ones rotted, along with the not self saved ones so I dont feel too bad

I put broadies in late last year, but they didnt show, so I am putting random peas and beans in still as I get space cleared. Its neverending story as far as clearance on my plot, and we have inspections coming up in a week or so. :gulp:

Runners and climbers are well away now, French beans are about 18 inches high and another lot have their heads poking through the soil. I acclimatized them all by putting them out during the day then took a gamble and bunged em in the ground late May. I might not be so lucky next time.
