Lucky you ! The only things I get given for nothing are colds.

Even upside down something doesn't look right - if that's the outside where's the gutter? Have you got the rail in the wrong way round.

No, we are waiting for the gutter to arrive. My husband has inserted a long aluminium strip phot 3 I think for the gutter to sit on. These strips come out from every roof bit.

The greenhouse it 40-50 years old and when we took it down there was nothing that we could see extra but we wondered whether some stuff had just fallen off as it was old and in quite a mess.

I would be tempted to leave the bottom roof panes out until the gutter is fitted, you may find it has a lip for the glass to rest against:

Afterthought:
If all else fails, cut some strips of tin 4" x 1/2" then make your own z clips to suit the glass & gutter. this will then stop the glass from sliding down.

Yes, we are not putting in anymore glass until the gutter is in. We just put 3 in here to see how well the dry glazing worked and how it all fitted together.
Funnily enough I said to my husband. Can't we just make our own z clips that will be long enough..... I think just on in the middle of each bottom pane would work. Thank you

Greenhouse project over the last year! It's been a project

So, we obtained a 20 x 10 ft greenhouse for free from gumtree.
We got it 1 year ago. It has taken so long as we have literally recycled everything.... all the soil dug out to lay the concrete we sifted and is now in bags and they will become the soil in which I use to grow things. All the pebbles and stones have been used as borders.
The greenhouse itself is 40 years old approx. We cleaned all the aluminium and polished some too, we will only be short by 5 panes of glass and have plenty of extra glass they gave so we can cut to fit.
The whole frame is up and we are half way through cleaning glass and are waiting for gutter to arrive as the shop was out of stock of the grey colour we wanted. We will have 3 rain barrels on the inside at the left end and my husband was hoping to use this also as some kind of heating for winter,
Laying the concrete was hard work... neither of us have ever had a greenhouse before so complete novices

Hoping all the glass will be in in about 2-3 weeks but here is a photo of it so far.
I will be a bit late to the season and wondering what I will be able to grow from end of June.

I don't grow veg in the winter - no greenhouse - but somebody with knowledge will be along soon I'm sure

Carly, I've merged a couple of your GH threads. It'll help others to see the issues you had and how you're overcoming them. Hope you keep posting updates on it too. Threads like this can be very helpful

As for plants, if you keep some tomatoes and chillies in pots now, you can move them to the GH when its glazed.

It looks huge! You're lucky you've got space for that! Peach/apricot trees like a shelter in the winter or permanently there's enough space there for a forest you must be so happy

see if the garden centres have plants it's quite late to sow like toms,peppers,melons,maybe sow a couple of cucumber seeds now,look for 'days to harvest' on seeds,find quick growing varieties?

So, one end done, guttering and piping attached and roof done! Will be finished in 2 days and then ready to move in
