  • Instore (Poundstretcher) 6x4 Greenhouses

Popped into Instore today for some canes (8-10x6ft for £1.99) and noticed they have a 6x4 reinforced plastic greenhouse for £34.99. I got the one from Morrisons (same as Wilkos) for about £25 last year, this year they're £30, but the plastic on the instore one, from the pic, looks like its stronger and interwoven with some green stuff. Anyone have any experience of it and is it worth the extra £5-10?

I bought one of these from instire last year -and....................it is still standing! My friend bought one as well and hers only lasted a week. I think they are great for the money but just be careful where you put it - ie somewhere sheltered from the wind, and make sure it's anchored firmly!

I saw it yesterday at Poundstretcher too and it's a good walk-in size for raising your seedlings and outdoor veggies. The reinforced plastic cover (interwoven with green strings) is much stronger than the cheap nasty clear ones having one myself on a 2-tier greenhouse I got from Homebase but a small section of the frame has broken (fixable in a makeshift sort of way). I'd be more worried of the quality of the cheap plastic frame compounded by the strong wind but I don't know how well the anchoring would work.

Be careful where you site as it tears easily........ours got blown away in the wind last year, good to put inside a greenhouse and grow melons!

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
