    A newbies garden adventure

Well I started growing veg 5 days ago and I'm feeling excited and nervous at the same time.

My garden is all concrete and gravel which I quite like but it does make growing thing a bit difficult.

I have decided to grow veggies in containers so I have 4 mini raised grow beds. They are the plastic ones and have liners in them. The liners are apparently like the weed suppression fabric so hopefully they will work. The raised beds are 3' by 18" so inventive planting will be called for.

I also have 16 black bucket things that I got from Morrissons and I've drilled holes in them and put gravel in the bottom.

I hope to get a couple of big plastic tubs as well to grow veg in.

In the raised beds I'm hoping to put shallots in one, then salad veg in another, cabbages in one and maybe broccoli in the last one.

Carrots are going in the black buckets as well as parsnips. I also have potato growing bags and they are going to have , maris peer, charlotte and swift in them. They sent 5 tubers for each grow bag thing and after reading on here I think thats too many. I will put 3 in each grow bag the the leftover 2 of each type will go in a black bucket.

I also need to get some big pots to put my dwarf, peas, broad beans and runner beans in.

Hopefully I will have my greenhouse in a month or two and will be able to grow peppers, courgettes, aubergine, tomatoes and cues. They are going to be strted in the spare room under the windowsill. I have bought a lot of the small pots that grow when you add water so hopefully will start those off when they arrive.

    Thats all for now

Thanks you should see the garden now. I have to go and look at it about 4 times a day just to see if any thing else has come through
