Well, in spite of everything that the wether has or hasn't thrown our way so far this year, I should be starting to harvest soon - am already on third crop of lettuces with the next batch of 150 ready to be planted at the weekend, My cucumbers have fairly raced away this week - now have flowers and two to three inch cukes on three of the rows and the remaining four rows are catching up quickly. French Bean Blue Lake is hitting the top of the 8ft canes and is now travelling along the crop bars and the overhead irrigation pipes in the tunnel and the first flowers are open. The first Hispi cabbages will be picked a week on Thursday for my veg boxes and for the Farmers Market that Saturday. Swiss Chard is about a fortnight away from it's first cut.
Outside my radishes (Long White Icicle) are ready, the first batch of broad beans (Witkiem Manita) are beginning to flower as are some of my courgettes. The peas (Kelvedon Wonder) are racing up the netting and the tatties have really jumped too. Not long now til I am in full swing me thinks.
