    Another frosty morning

Well the frost is back, but the ground wasn't too hard so I could still lift my leeks with a fork instead of the 5ft buckrake tine
My calabrese plants in the polytunnel are now starting to form their first central heads so hopefully the first of them should be ready in two - three weeks time. The PSB in the tunnel is growing strongly but no sign of florets yet, though the PSB in the field (well, those plants that have withstood the rabbits and pheasants) are starting to bud up now.
Started to "spring" clean the shed today - off to local agri-merchants for mouse and rat poison tomorrow ! Little beggars.
Ordered 150 collapsible stacking crates on-line for box delivery scheme.
Made my mates day too - he has recently bought a tyre centre, so I said I'd take 250 tyres off him - they're good for protecting my young courgettes when they get planted out and save him disposal costs too.
Plan to finish strimming weed growth this week then go see a man about pigsh~t and get it slathered all over the field before ploughing.
    Later...........

I would like to start growing fruits and/or vegetables in my backyard. Nothing has grown there in a long time, not even grass. Do you have any ideas as to what I should do first to be able to grow something this year?
