Well, today saw me pick last of my runner beans in what has been to be honest a disasterous season for them. Never mind there's always next year. Cleared plants and canes away, then picked the last 40 odd courgettes and ripped out the plants and deposited them on the rapidly expanding compost heap. Next came the last of the Chinese Cabbage. Of the twenty plants left managed to get 12 picked, the remaining 8 showing signs of bolting so no use for sale.
Sowed some rocket and flat leafed parsley in my "warm boxes" in the polytunnel - polystyrene fish boxes that used to contain cod from Iceland. Radicchio and radishes sown last week up have germinated and lettuces transplanted at the same time are growing well.
