  • Pass the Parcel Seed Swap Thread - Charitable Donations

    http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...wap_32841.html.

    Ok Grapes.

We currently have 13 parcels on the go, and the max that we can really deal with is 15. So, when the parcels get too big; I will be asking Grapes to notify me of this, and pull out any UNOPENED MANUFACTURERS PACKETS [ie T&M, Suttons, Kings etc] and send them to me. I will then collect them and when there are a significant number [I'd say about 20ish] I will send onto a charity/school nominated by Grapes.

    Please post nominations here.

What Grapes have to do for the charity/school to be nominated; is to contact them and find out whether they actually want the seeds, and to have a name and an address for me to send them to. I'll ask in advance for the details by PM so keep them to hand for when the packets are ready.

Once this has been agreed and you have confirmation that they want them, and a named person to send them to, post on here the charity/school name and I'll go in turn.

    Many Thanks

I don't want to hyjack this thread but I now have my youngest's nursery wanting veg seeds
Kickers and Dribblers Nursery (you would never guess its run from a football club would you)
would be better if the seeds were spread around abit more than just my local schools though

                    Blanket Sale

My 6 year old is currently doing her civic award. (Preliminary to The Duke of Edinburgh when she is much older) Part of her award is to organise and take part in a blanket sale at school. The criteria is that the items sold are eco friendly and dont cost anything to produce. My daughter wants to sell seedlings/plants and possibly grow kits to other children and visitors to the sale. She has asked all our close neighbours to save yogurt pots and lolly sticks.

We would be over the moon to have any seed donations sent to us, and very grateful.
The seeds she has picked are obviously aimed at children particularly, so need to become compact size plants (other than pumpkins) and have some novelty value.

Ideas she has come up with are:

                    chillis,
                    Halloween pumpkins (to carve)
                    cherry toms, small bush ?
                    mini cucumbers
                    carrots
                    bright flowers
                    seed markers

If anyone else has any good ideas please pass them on and if anyone is kind enough to donate any seeds, please PM me

NB all proceeds from the sale go towards to school.

                    Thank you all
