    Anyone looking for oca?

    I just harvested my red oca- as well as some decent size ones there seems to be a lot of tiny tubers, not worth eating. Rather than them going to waste, would anyone like to try a few?

    If you have something interesting to swap, that's great, but if not, that's OK!

        I'd love to try some, hamamelis. I'll have an English address for a couple of weeks that you can send them to. And I'm sure I can find some interesting seeds to swap them with. What kinds of things are you interested in?

              Mine may really be pink Sparrow100, I got them from a seed swap originally (I think donated by another grape, though I didn't meet them), and they're pretty varied in colour. I'll try and get a pic if you want? See if they are just like some of yours?

              Zelenina, how long will you be over for? I'm letting them dry out a bit at the moment, but if you're not going to be in the UK long, I can send them sooner.

              I think I'll post the rest after the Christmas postal insanity has finished, if that's OK by everyone else?

                Cheers hamamelis. Am attaching a photo of 2 types I have - these are from the tubers that were just lying on top. I haven't done any digging just yet.

                They are odd-looking things, aren't they?!

                    Take care packing them as the postage may be higher than you expect.
                    A "large" stamp only covers a letter up to 2.5 cms thick. Over that size it becomes a small parcel @ £2.80.

                      That is a good point VC - but then the cost of oca tubers is eye-watering. £8.80 for 5 tubers plus a fiver postage....I was in a round-robin earlier this year so got mine for the princely sum of £3 postage.

                      Swaps sound good hamamelis - I also had many which looked as knobbly as yours - all now eaten. Could we swap post-Christmas postal insanity?

                        Yep, they're ridiculously expensive Just didn't want anyone to have to pay an extra £ because the postage wasn't enough!

                            I am quite busy, yes- working at the postal sorting office as it happens! (Sadly that doesn't mean I get to send stuff free though.)
