  • peas- broad beans- the freezing of!

    Good morning folks.....
Do you blanch your peas and broad beans before freezing?
I always have (because I was tole to) but now wonder if it is worth doing.
    Many thanks.
Coming up really black here - gonna be a storm I bet!

I always have HF, but why not try a few to see what happens? It's incredibly dark here oop north too.

I don't at all, just spread them out on a tray to open freeze then tip them into bags. Find the flavour and texture much more like fresh ones than if I blanche. Cook from frozen always works better too.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I don't blanch. Tried it and found it made the veg soft and soggy. Just open freeze on trays and then tip into bags or tubs.
