  • Blackberries

As i am currently clearing my garden of brambles i have an excess of blackberries, currently as they have been picked i've put them into freeze to save them. But now i cannot think waht to do other than make jam or crumble would like something a little more exciting, maybe savoury instaed of sweet. Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated

There is a recipe on here somewhere for hedgerow chutney which uses blackberries. Have a search. Here you go - I did it for you http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ney_38227.html

We made blackberry flapjacks yesterday - really nice.

For a savoury idea, there's a recipe out there somewhere (French Laundry one, I think) for sea bass fillets with blackberry sauce. I tried it once years ago, and it was initially a bit challenging, but tasted pretty good. You could also do a sauce to go with duck or game - stick it in the freezer until the 'season' starts.
            I don't roll on Shabbos
