    Morning grapes.

Very quickly, I lost a third welsummer from the chicks I bought in last weekend.

Even though all my age groups are kept in different pens, the light sussex I bought in at the same time has a runny nose.

Then this morning checking my existing girls in the main run, my ex batt has a squinty eye and my best girl Lily has bubbles from hers and a runny nose.

I have an idea this is something bad and I know I need to try and find a vet that knows chickens on a sunday. What is the most likely diagnosis for this and presuming I need antibiotics for them all, what is it I need to try and get my hands on? Ive segregate Lily to a separate run, fast running out of space though so need to try and treat asap so it doesnt spread through them all.

    Please help!

Sounds like mycroplasma. Have a look at the thread 'Is it mycroplasma' started a few days ago.

I am sure that someone will be along soon with more advice.

You beat me to it Roitelet! Yes I would say mycoplasmosis too. Look at Hilly's thread about this - she is having to deal with the same problem.

The antibiotic you need is Tylan soluble, administered to all the birds at 0.5 g per litre of water for 3 consecutive days.

Thanks chaps, I'll look at Hilly's thread. Have an appointment at 12.10 today with the vet so I'll being taking Lily as she has the most symptoms.

It was indeed, your thread was very helpful! Ive just read your update and Im glad all things are looking brighter for you.

All my girls are on Tylan now, day two today and so far everyone is still quite perky. Nutmegs squinty eye looks brighter already and although they all look a bit snotty still, there's no bubbley eyes. Weird as it sounds, Im glad Lily's eyes were bad yesterday morning otherwise I doubt I'd have picked up on it yet or looked anymore closely. They havent bubbled since then so it might have got passed me for another day or so.

So far so good and the warm weather is helping because it means they are drinking their medicine like good girls
