One for the sweet tooth

Well what a busy week i've had. Took a week of work & have ended up more tired than if i had gone to work.
Been out rambling again & ended up bringing home MORE crabapples. So deciced to get busy and do more preserving. Decided to try making crabapple & rosehip jelly & was pretty pleased with the results. Used a very diy method:
Jelly bag was made from an offcut of nylon net curtain!
Suspended said jelly bag from an old veg rack with garden string! Must post up pics
Despite the diy the jelly turned out beautiful, very clear, sweet but still sharp from the crabapples. Think this will make a beautiful glaze for the christmas ham
So after a busy wekk i thought i was finished when lo and behold the other half arrives home exclaiming ''i've found loads of ripe elderberries'' So off we go again using my last day of the holiday to make Elderberry cordial
The family christmas hampers will be full to the brim this year
