  • Starting from seed

I'm not really allowed to grow anything in the house - and all I have is seeds at the moment.

What's the best way of growing from seed outdoors? Are those little plastic greenhouses any good?

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

They aren't bad HW but depending on where you are able to position it you may find things very slow to get started at the mo. Obviously once we start getting more sunshine and daylight they will be fine. Also you won't be able to start anything that requires heat to germinate so you will be limited at the mo to broad beans, peas, onions and so on. Some early brassicas may do ok.

I don't know where about you are so that may also dictate. Check all your packets. If the seeds require anything above 15C then hold back. If they are ok as long as it's not actually freezing you may do alright.

Plant a few and see how you get on.

The plastic growhouses can get very hot in the summer BTW.
