  • Plant identification, please

    Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help me out with some plant identification.

The first two photos are of a tree that we passed on my partner's parents' estate. His mom, who is usually pretty good with trees, was unable to place it and wondering about it. Click image for larger version

The next two are from my new plot.

I thought the first might be oregano, but I've only ever grown it in small pots.

The last is planted right next to the potential oregano, so I thought it might be an herb as well. (I have no idea why I'm speculating. I don't know what it is. The baby and husband are asleep and I'm chatty, apparently.)

Don't know the tree, but the second pic is oregano, the third is creeping comfrey - Symphytum grandiflorum.
    Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
    Endless wonder.

I would say the tree is manna ash. We have something similar on the grounds where I work, that I first thought was a manna ash. Also called flake manna.
But it is also so like a lilac, like Mothhawk says. I am not great at plant identification lol

Thanks, both. I will pass on the tree possibilities to my partner's mom.

I also think the tree is a white flowering lilac
