  • Is my greenhouse positiioned wrongly?

I'm wondering if I need to move my greenhouse to an area with more light?

I have Brussell Sprout plants (from seed) that a leggy. I also have Courgettes from seed that have take 4 weeks to emerge. I'm also growing tomato plants and pepper plants.

I'm near Aberdeen so I'm lucky to get great weather.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

If you can, yes. It's much easier to add shade to your greenhouse than add more light when you need it

Sometimes you have to compromise, my greenhouse isn't in the best place but it's the only place I could realistically use in the garden. That said, light is very important and it does look very shaded where you have it. In addition, it looks like there is some sort of film on some of the panels either side of the door, is there anything there, if so then this won't be helping. With regards your sowings, brassicas often get a bit leggy to start with but will be fine if pricked out deeply. I always sow my courgettes etc inside and they come through pretty quickly, I'd not think that 4 weeks is that unusual in an unheated greenhouse, it still gets pretty cold in there at night and the location won't make much difference to night temperatures really.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Light is the most important thing for plant growth (more important than warmth).

You're on a hiding to nothing with a gh in the shade, I'm afraid. Growth will be weak, plants will be leggy & you'll be plagued by moss & algae
