  • How do you know when onions are ready to harvest?

    Evening all,

I have some onions that have produced a seed pod (I planted them all autumn last year), some are biggish but some are also small.

So are there any good indicators to use to know when they are ready to harvest?

Normally they are ready when the leaves have turned brown & keeld over. The ones that have bolted may be best picked & used as salad onions.
