  • Tumbling toms pot size

    Hi all,

I've got 12 tumbling toms currently in 10cm pots getting ready to go out into the garden once this cold snap is over.

I need to buy pots for them once they've outgrown these but I'm not sure what size to go with. I have one trough that's 50cm and one that I don't know the size of but looks maybe 10cm longer and a bit deeper. Assume I could only put one in the smaller one but can I put two in the longer one? And what size pot would be ideal for the rest? Am trying to keep the price down as if I bought 9/10 more of the 50cm ones it would come at close to £40 which is not ideal :') probably should have thought of that before I bought 12 plants but too late now.

    Thanks for your help

B&Q buckets, flower buckets from your local garage/supermarket are cheaper options for pots.

Your gardencentre probably have a recycling pot area too - I often take them out of there

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
