  • Fish for supper

    Off to get supper ready.
We're having smoked haddock, cauliflower and brocolli in a cheese sauce, topped off with parsleyed potatoes and baked in the oven.

What do other grapes do with fish for supper.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Salmon en cruit (or however you spell it for in puff pastry!) is lovely. Get a couple of skinless salmon fillets, spread softened butter mixed with nutmeg, raisins and chopped stem ginger in syrup over one of the fillets. Place the other one on top but the other way around so you get the thin end with the thick. Wrap it all up in puff pastry and cook until cooked. Dead good and lovely with fresh new potatoes and any green leafy veg.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Roast trout, baked in tin foil with some herbs in the belly, or anything we've caught when on holiday thrown on the barbecue! Mmmm, fish is delish!

Fish pie - haddock and prawns in a lovely creamy sauce with mashed potatoes, beautifully crusted in the oven. My comfort food!

Thanks everybody, fish seems to be popular for supper.
Mrs D, I stuff the trout belly with spring onions, chopped herbs, chopped mushroom, chopped ginger and some orange or lemon zest and put the juice over the fish. You might want to try it. Yum !
