hi i have looked everywhere for some black plastic to kill off the grass but to no avail but i have come across quite a bit of see through thick clear plastic does anyone think this will do the trick????

How about some layers of thick cardboard?

As said above, clear plastic will act like a greenhouse, and make the grass grow even more!

Places like LBSgarden Warehouse and Harrod Horticultural do online deals of various types of weed suppressing membrane, but my local garden centre is almost as cheap and I can just pick it up. Carpet can do the job but lots of allotment sites don't allow it. Very old hesian backed ones are better than modern ones which are treated with nasty chemicals. ive come across another problem now when it rains the two places where ive dug and planted gets full of water and someone told me i should ask if can move plots do you think this is really neccesary as theres no other plots there so id have to wait again and i dont want to have to give it up or waste what im planting i really dont know what to do for the best,Last edited by sunflower96; 07-08-2009, 06:16 PM.Comment
