I put six asparagus crowns in last year; in hindsight into a daft location. As it was, I gave up on them and, as there was nice compost there, I thought I might as well chuck parsnips in as the asp' had failed. Parsnips germinated and are lovely but, midway through the season, guess what? Yep, nice green asparagus appeared through the 'snips.
I'd like to move the crowns to a permanent bed with other perennial bits but do we think I'll harm them by doing so? I know it can be a temperamental plant that doesn't enjoy disturbance.
