Thought other vine members might be interested in this:

    Swap Crop • Index page

Its only just started. The idea is that if you have a huge crop of something that could be made into preserves or jam, then you list it and swap for some of the finished product.

"The idea behind swapcrop is that people will adopt a share and spare ethos and therefore help to reduce waste and build stronger communities...."

Fantastic idea - not that I'm that good a gardener that I'll have anything to swap. Except Sloes and horse sh*t!

I know what you mean, we are either lumped in south east (with Kent) or south west (with Cornwall), but we're actually just south south

ARGH!!! I was working on the same idea - had started developing the site too, nooo.

                This always happens to me!

edit: double argh - didn't realise this was so old, why didn't I turn anything up in my googling.

I don't think that site should preclude you from continuing - it's not exactly buzzing, is it?

Can we have a Midlands bit for me, and a Northwest bit for splatcat and a South South bit for northepaul in your version please?

True, a forum (imo) isn't the right way to do it. I'm guessing their site hadn't been indexed when I was searching before

May continue to develop it, if it takes off could move it to it's own domain or something. Depends if I get this software finished in work so I can erm possibly have a play around with it in work

Only 2 days behind schedule. This forum is to blame mind.

The reason it didnt show up on google might be why the swapcrop site isnt that busy...go for your site Chris, after all, you have all us lot to keep it busy!!
