  • Houston, we have a problem.........

Picture the scene...it was late last night..I knew I had LOADS to do today...I had 2kg of plums that needed something doing with them......so "I'll make some plum jam thinks I"..... it's quick and it's easy...

A good plan all in all do't you think??????????

Remember the part about it being late (1am late!)?

So I didn't bother with the saucer test, or use the thermometer............ get the picture yet?

I get up this morning and I have 6 jars of runny, very runny, plum sauce! Far too much to be useful to be honest.

So my question is....can i tip the whole lot back in the pan and boil it up hoping that it will reach setting point and I'll have some decent jam?

    Thanks folks........I'll await some advice....

    SN

    Yes, you can.

And pop a saucer in the freezer to cool down now.....it has to be cold to work.

Meanwhile, are you sitting comfortably on the norty step? *wags finger

Agree with Andrea re the jam. By the time you've completed your list of things to do today I think you'll have redeemed yourself tho so no need for the norty step. Just take the wine to a nice comfy chair or sofa

Sounds like you need a holiday!

Can I make you a coffee and persuade you to take five minutes out for a sit down???

No problem; anyone else having one of those days/weeks/years?

I've heard one Grape has a couple of cheesecakes going spare.....so I'm sure we can snaffle one and share it round....

Mmmmm cheesecake! My favourite, but what to drink with it, anyone got any Elderflower cordial going spare? This could turn into quite a teaparty.

That'll be over to Piskies then for the blueberry cheesecake I reckon, it'll be something stronger than elderflower cordial there though

I have a couple gallons of nice white wine if anyone fancies an early tipple? I have had a bum week so very tempted to get drunk early (might kill the blooming pain)
