This is an excellent home made liqure recipe that my mum got in France years ago. You puncture an orange 44 times, put it in a large bottle/jar, add 44 coffee
beans and 44 french sized sugar lumps (which i think are slighlty bigger than ours. Then you pour over one litre of Eau de Vie (cheap French brandy) and leave for 44 days. Ends up like cointreau!!!

    Hello!!
It sound very good and easy to remember....I will have a go at it. I believe that Eau de vie is distilled from the left overs of the grapes including their stalks when they are pressed in order to extract the grape juice for wine making. This process will result to Eau de vie or grappa in italian or aqua ardiente in spanish.....surely we can also try this recipe using cheap brandy or vodka.
    Many Thanks
    regards
    Don Vincenzo
