Feels like it has been ages since I have grown anything. I have moved house in the last year so had to give up my allotment. A sad event. Since then I ahve been doing up a house, so my thoughts haven't been on grow your own.
Now things are starting to come together at home, I am ready to spend some time outdoors. I am on my local allotment list and third in line. It doesn't sound a long list, but the two people ahead of me are the same two people who were on the list last year.
Since it will more than likely be a long wait, I have decided to dedicate a part of our garden for a kitchen garden and grow a few essentials (and a few more too). My first plan is to clear some ground of weeds, grass, gravel and rubbish. This space will be for my home made polytunnel! Very exciting time as I enjoy planning DIY things.
I have some blue plastic pipe to form the loops and I will form some frame for it to sit in. I want loop to have a vertical side so I can grow right up to the edge of the polytunnel and have some staging in there too.
Plans are being drawn at the moment, but I just can't decide on the size of wood required and how to fix the pipe to the frame. Toying with running it through holes in the frame or attaching it to the frame somehow.
Can't wait to make up my mind and get going...
