  • Hello from West Yorkshire

    Hi there
I'm up in sunny (well it was this evening West Yorkshire. We got our first ever allotment in May and we're weeding and digging like mad.

My 5 year old has planted pumpkins and parsnips which are looking good. We've also planted potatoes, onions, sweetcorn, cabbage, turnips, leeks (lots of), also planted a tayberry bush, blackcurrants, whitecurrants and redcurrants.

At home we have a lot of tomato plants, cucumbers, peppers, radishes, carrots, rhubarb, blueberries, garlic, salad (lots) and some broccoli, peas and beans waiting to go up to the lottie.
So, we have quite an eclectic mix hoping to pick up lots of handy tips here as we are making it up as we go along. Thankfully our lottie neighbour keeps passing plants and advice over the fence, she is lovely.

Hi there Twiggs! Love the name. Welcome to the grapevine. Lots of advice here, but it sounds like you've made a brilliant start without us!
