  • Hello from North Wales

Hi! I'm on Anglesey in north Wales.. so far I've planted (deep breath) strawberries, blueberries, black and red currants, garlic, broad, french and borlotti beans, peas, white and red onions, cipolli di tropea, spring onions, leeks, celeriac, red sprouts, various beetroot, courgettes, sweetcorn, sunflowers, a zillion different tomatoes, basil, parsley, lettuce and.. probably some other stuff. Oh, cucumbers! I'm going for a scattergun approach to see what works..
This forum is great am learning a LOT

Oh and yes it is my first plot. I also planted globe artichokes and am raising asparagus from seed - apparently a quick developing type, should get first spears in August (so the packet said..) but that's for my tiny patch at home in amongst my second year globe artichokes. Longing for things to get on with growing!

That's a stunning view. In my ignorance I have no idea what the local climate is like on Anglesey.

Up and down! We're lucky because the mountains tend to attract the clouds so it's sometimes called the sunny isle.. but not always, there's still plenty of rain to go around. The wind comes whistling up the straits so plenty of gales too!
