I find wellies really cold and uncomfortable, rigger boots for me every time. Mine are old site boots with steel toes and soles and the extra protection is good too.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I had a pair of hunters for years but like Alison they are cold. Also hunters aren't very good quality anymore. Recently bought dickies rigger/wellies, they do come up on the small side but they are lovely and cosy

Not a fan of wellies for the same reason Alison mentions. I just buy a pair of work boots from Wickies. Last a lot longer and afford better support for my ankles.

I have a pair of neoprene boots called muddies. They are soft, warm, comfy, and given that I run around in them all winter and have had them for at least three years now I cannot even say they are expensive anymore - I would have gone through several pairs of ordinary wellies by now

PS. neoprene is that stuff that diving suits are made of - great insulation!

I have Muck Boots, sound similar to Muddies. Just been digging in them and no clammy feet.

I don't know how much money you want to spend on it. I have two pairs, one from Cancer Research UK for £15.99 and another ones from Sport Direct for a fiver. I bought Wellington shocks in Poundland and The Works.

SportsDirect.com - Trainers, Football Boots, Football Shirts, Running Shoes

Decathlon has also cheap Wellington boots type.

I have a small allotment and garden, so I don't see the need to spend £50.00 in a good pair of boots. I have always buy cheap Wellington boots and they last me years.

Like Alison said - a pair of rigger boots for me.

Screwfix normally sell quite cheap versions (about the £20 - £25 mark) . They usually last me at least a couple of years.

Stood in a big puddle yesterday at the plot and realised it's time for a new pair.

Got mine when I worked on site in about 1995 and been using them on the Lottie for about the last 6 years and although very scruffy looking they're still going strong
