    three cornered leek?

    Hi all,

    Look what I found growing at the back of my garden, VC can you or anyone else confirm my suspicions please?

    I have already eaten a bit, and it tastes like three cornered leek!!!!

    Looks like it CG. Dig up a little bit and have a look at the bulb at the base - should look a bit like a bulbous spring onion. Does it smell garlicky when you rub the leaf? Don't want you eating bluebells

      I tore up a leaf and smelt it, and it smells garlicky and tastes garlicky!!!

      Next question, how did it get there? And how does it re produce each year?

        Someone probably planted it!! It spreads by seeding and by multiplying at the roots. I really like it as its pickable most of the year. No need to grow spring onions, or chives as you can use it as a substitute for either.
