This is not an answer but almost an Anniversary. Its nearly a year since you were puzzling about how to put your photos in order - and nobody could give you an answer - can they now?

I suspect you have to order them 1, 2, 3 etc as they will list them according to the file name.

BM....this might help.

looking at the "file upload manager" that comes up when you click the "Albums" tab in your profile, you'll see to the top right hand side some drop down windows that allow you to "sort order" your uploads in Asc, Desc, Date or Filename...

so depending whether your image files are actually named as numerical or alphabetical on your computer then choosing from the drop down window "ascending" would sort them low to high, "descending" would sort them high to low and "filename" would sort them alphabetically........

you should be able to do that by editing your albums in situ as they currently are......select what you want to sort them as and then click the "go" button ......you might have try it a few different ways to get it as you want it.......

If that doesn't work for you, then you could "rename" your photos on your computer as you want in whatever numerical/alphabetical order and choose either the asc or desc buttons to arrange them as you want in your albums.

Hi GB. I've been messing about with this too this afternoon and its almost impossible to get the photos into an album so that the oldest ones (January) are the ones you see first - which is, I think, what BM is trying to do. I have about 250 photos in the upload manager and they have been named, when saved to my computer, by subject.(like viewjan, viewfeb).
So I created an album for those "view" photos (8) and renamed them numerically. Then created another album and moved them across. It made no difference whether I moved them one at a time, or en masse, they still appeared in the same backwards order.

Its doing me 'ed in

Did you try and "sort" them in the manager as ASC and then click the "Go" button??

The thing that I didn't do was rename them in the manager because I'd never find them again if they were called 1 or 2. I have several different albums on the go

I'll try a few and see if that does the trick

No, the photo album sorting isnt working on upload as it should, there is something thats blocking the native code. There is possibly a 3rd party plug in to the vb4 code that is conflicting.

The admin should be able to confirm that there is a conflict by temporarily turning off the plug ins and then seeing if the sort order works in the Albums uploads.

That was exactly my thought Zaz so I did it & it still don't work.

In the File upload manager - where all you photos are stored. Top right, there are 3 drop down boxes after sort order - Date, Desc and Thumbnail - then GO!

No BM, doesn't look like it's working as it should.....the upload manager allows you to set the "order by" "sort by" or "view by" options prior to uploading your images........then when you upload, the software automatically arranges your photos in a fixed order irrespective of how you set them originally.

Thats either a bug in the code or a 3rd party plug in affecting it.

Only the admin can sort that one.
