  • Leeds? (flying visit)

    Hello northern Grapes

I've a hospital appt in Leeds, so Mr TS needs to occupy himself for about 5 hrs.

    What to do in Leeds?

He likes beer, shopping, food. I've already bookmarked Harvey Nicks & Granary Wharf, and Gaucho's.

    Hello! *waves*

Anthony Flinn has some excellent foodie places there Anthony's Restaurant - 19 Boar Lane, Leeds

The Victorian shopping arcades are fab - I can while away hours there.
The Victoria Quarter Leeds, VQ Leeds. VR Leeds virtual tour of shopping in the City

There's my suggestions anyway - I'm not a local lass so sure other Grapes will know more, mine are not exactly secret spots!
    I don't roll on Shabbos

        Hi TS
Depends what day your going but Leeds has a massive indoor market which can be great for bargains. Theres also a greatt art gallery, and museum and the town centre is very accessible, which hospital are you going to LGI or Jimmys? Both in dofferent areas of the city so might alter where you go?

Ill have another think inthe meantime

The Ikea visit ended in him yelling at me to get out the dang car! (in the rain) because he couldn't find his way out of the B&Q carpark

Oh thank goodness it isn't just me - only been once with ex-Mr Sprocket and that ended up with him shouting at me in the car park as I was no telepathic as we tried to get the bookcase in the car - I came back on the train.

Hi TS LGI is indeed only 5 mins from city centre, the German Market has just arrived on Millenium Square (opposite LGI), the Leeds Museum is also on Millenium Square. IKEA is 5/6miles out of Leeds City Centre so no worries there!!! Art Gallery is a couple of minutes from LGI, Corn Exchange is worth a wander round and there are some independent foodie outlets in there.

If he's a kitchen gadget shopper Maturi's is the place to lose a few hours (need a wad of cash though!!!! Peter Maturi kitchenware

If this is the appointment you alluded to on the Rant Thread the other day & you want the time changing send me a PM.

If you're up to meeting for a coffeee let me know & i'll try & drag Big Mally along too & maybe jackyspratty could too

Brilliant! I can't believe everything is so central. My local (Norwich) hospital is 6 miles out of the city in a farmer's field

I did, but now you mention it.... 5 hr drive, 5 hrs in motorway services trying to find the way out wouldn't be unusual
