I'm listening to Classic FM and laughing at the list of places/things that St George is also patron Saint of... Good lad, that Georgey...

It's a public holiday here in Aragon. He's our patron saint too (if you believe in that kind of thing).

One thing I can never understand...we have a red rose to symbolise England....yet on St George's Day, none can be found in our gardens?
(Should have been a dandelion if you ask me!)

          Enjoy the day!

            Happy St Georges day.

I trust we'll all be in the pubs early drinking warm real ale and singing folk songs? No! Seems acceptable for a foreigners saints day.

In celebration I have defrosted bacon, sausages,English bread rolls, our own stewed tomatoes and we'll have our eggs and baked beans with them.
Just missing the mushrooms but the shops are all shut locally...near enough though eh?
              Pud is gooseberry charlotte.

              Mmm....

Sorry, got a bit side tracked.

I agree it should be a bank holiday but if it don’t fall on a Monday or Friday then what?

Is’nt he supposed to be Turkish anyway?
