  • Got the bug again.............

My feet have just about healed up (sic) after my last running exploits in the Great North Run and I've got the running bug again. I've been out a couple of times and have decided that half marathons on the road just aren't my thing
I'm going to sign up for the Pier to Pier run to mackam land from sand dancer territory.(South shields Pier to Roker Pier) which is a 7.5 mile trail run in early May. I'm also signing up for a 10k trail run in late May at Druiridge Bay. Wish me luck. I may run both races for charity and could be on the scrounge!

to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

    Get better shoes!

Seriously, from one reluctant runner to another, I've bitten the bullet and signed up today for the Great Midlands Run (8.5 miles). I've plodded around a road route of about 2.5 - 3.5km a couple of times a week for the last few weeks, but know that three times a week at 5km and a weekend run of 8-10km are needed to get through it.

You can tell it's me by the plodding pace and the scowl. I hate running. Although I love the extra glass of red that it justifies.

    Well done, and that.

Yeah, it could be the steel toe caps on me pit boots that's done the damage!

i got ill a few years ago, incapacitated, lost my fitness, not regained it .... the missus started dragging me to the gym and now i'm dragging her .... running isn't my thing, but i reckon a good long bike ride, maybe london to brighton, is possible next year ....
