Look what flew into our kitchen

This chap flew into our kitchen late one night, it stayed on the table all night and did not move, next morning I moved in onto a potato leaf where it stayed until the evening, it was HUGE, what was it?

we saw another about 10 mins ago,near the window...........i could not kill anything but cabbage whites and their larvae!

I cant kill anything Im not going to eat that has a face I can see - (thank goodness aphids are too small to see thier faces!)

I even think snails have pretty little faces, they look a bit like horses to me (well a bit?!?!).

We re-home the big catterpillars, slugs, snails etc in the forest.
