I have a Sichuan peppercorn plant which I would like to propagate. I've tried germinating seeds with 0% success. Now I'm going to try and take some cuttings. What I'd like to know is when should I take the cuttings? It's got a lot of fresh growth from this year which hasn't yet turned woody. I guess I should be choosing one of these. And there are peppercorns on some of it's branches which aren't ripe yet. I would also like to know about when taking the cutting.....I cut just below a leaf node don't I? Do I then use a knife to cut the leaf stem right at it's base or does one leave a couple of millimeters or so? Thanks for reading.
