SWMBO always called a hermit, I think nothing of climbing mountains on my own or going fishing in the middle of the night on my own, either stood in the middle of a river after sea trout or standing on a rocky shore in a storm in winter after a Cod, people can often get in the way. When out stalking animals with my camera, I definitely prefer to be on my own, people are too noisy...……………………...though when I do mix you can't shut me up lol.

No chances for me! I may nip out and get in another big shop and OH will probably stock up with diy stuff and then put ourselves on voluntary lockdown for a while longer.
The Spanish flu of 1918 which killed about 50 million people came back stronger a few weeks later -who is to say this one won't?
Not intending to be doom and gloom but I just don't think it's worth it!

Marks and Sparks are doing that too for their food hall. I've enough food but no appetite.

Yorkshire puds is a great idea. We've had rather a lot of cakes recently, so probably could do with cutting down on the sugar and fat a bit. Am currently thinking about hokkaido milk rolls.

I’ve no booze left and my home brew went off so I’ll have to send off for another kit. Only the second time in 50 years this has happened to me. I do have a red wine kit to start off and I have some gin coming in 3 weeks time. In the meantime I’ll raise my teacup to you.

It's a good question. I've had a big translation project cancelled because the client is expecting no-one will be visiting to need it, even though the lockdown will be over and they will be open by the time the event is due to be held.

Mr Snoop is in tears. He's just read an FT article about the situation in India. He's told me the gist. I don't think I'll read it. Enough for one of us to be angry and upset.

Meanwhile, the sun is shining here and I'm thinking about what to do with the one egg I've got left at the moment.

I've done extra on-call this week, and we are about to shift to a new rota with a lot more nights, weekends and evenings as things are expected to be getting busier and busier. I'm unlikely to be able to take any of my remaining annual leave (more than three weeks worth) and can't even try to apply for it until I see the finalised new rota. However, my boss let me go home a couple of hours early today, so I have managed to top up my electricity (I came home to no electricity at 11pm on Tuesday and have been eking out some emergency credit ever since). I've also done my first proper post-lockdown grocery shop and have picked up enough groceries to see me through another 3 weeks or so (on very reduced fruit and veg rations).

I initially tried to go Asda where I could do both the top-up and the shopping, but the queue to get in was enormous - I think it would have taken a good 90 minutes just to get in the door - so I gave up on that idea! Instead, I queued for 20 minutes to get into Lidl, and went to a corner shop where I could top up my electricity. I have come away with most of what I wanted, other than salt and a couple of bags of frozen veggies that I eyed up but that would have been the straw that broke the camel's back (the camel being me).

I came home from my shopping and promptly fell asleep, which is why I am now posting this in the early hours of the morning!
