Nigella/Love in the Mist

That's unusual, they can be a bit slow, in my experience, as they seem to start off a bit weak and whispy in my (old) garden, but I just used to bung more seeds down! I loooooove Nigella.

I sowed them 8 years ago and I still get self sown seeds. Try again. It's not too late. Best of luck with this lot! I think you might find a few of the earlier sowings make it now that there's a bit of rain in the offing.

wots good about nigella is its so easy to save the seeds.......i havent bought any for ages but still have loads of it in the garden......keep trying..........

Sowed some a while back and didn't have any trouble - plenty of little plants coming along nicely. Nothing special - just planted them in some bog-standard mpc and bunged 'em in the greenhouse.

Go on, try again.

I sowed some and nothing came of them. This led me to think that perhaps I hadn't sown them, don't ask why, I just had a funny feeling that I was looking at plain old compost. Sowed some more from the same packet and hey presto we have life! As the others have said, they self seed so should get going quite easily, perhaps they need more time?

Thank you all for your help. I checked my sowing earlier and there were some green shoots, so maybe it was just patience I needed.

I saw some in flower earlier in the week and am glad I have something poking up now.

I exactly the same happen with some geum seeds, so perseverance works.
