not sure about suitability for containers but Glen Ample is thornless and an excellent fruiter -
Joan J, Polka, Tulameen are excellent thornless autumn varieties and can also be grown to fruit in summer.Comment

I have Tulameen which is thornless and treat it as a late summer fruiting variety, its supposed to be a floricane - produces fruit on second year wood. I have seven, each growing very healthily in 30 litre containers. I've limited the number of sprouting canes in each to four. If you want to save money on containers you can try growing them in a 20 litre size with three canes in total.Originally posted by Scarlet View Post
