    Hi All,

I have just got a piece of land through Landshare and have marked out all my plots today. I have a 18m x 3m plot which is going to be utillised by growing fruit, only thing is I have no idea what to grow.

Any ideas/help would be really appreciated? Also, when do fruit trees get planted or does it depend on what they are??

Look into leg trees - a way of growing fruit trees that is normally commercially used but it affords you a huge crop from a very small amount of space.

Grow what you want to eat (although you will of course be limited by what will grow in the UK, and in your particular area).
You need to do further research before you start buying expensive trees. This site is a good start: All About Fruit Trees - Fruit Expert (UK)

and this is a good book: The Fruit Expert (Expert Series): Amazon.co.uk: Dr. D.G. Hessayon: Books

On an allotment near us a chap has apples grown as cordons on posts & wires. Fantastic crop and about 12 varieties in quite a small area. Takes a few years to establish though

Soft fruit can be very productive and high value returns for quite low imput

Really it all depends on what you want and what you would use
