Lots of us have been experiencing this problem recently. Cut the flower stalk off.

Mine did the same within a week. I cut it off and now the whole plant is thriving.

Get that flower stalk off, give the plant a good feed it will thrive after that.

It's been a weird year for Rhubarb, lots are throwing up flower stalks.!

I did take 5 cuttings off it last year, and they are all doing well. I guess that could have affected it. I'll cut the flower stalk off asap
          thanks peeps

            Noooooo,

dont cut it, pull it off just as you would a stalk of rhubarb, If you cut it you risk the nub rotting down into the crown.

PW is right, always pull rhubarb - to remove the flower - AND to eat it.
It can be due to the dry spring we had (up till a week or two back) or it can be due to the variety - some are very prone to bolting.

I didn't know you had to pull rhubarb rather than cut it. You live and learn....especially watching this forum. Ta 4 that one.
