    Diary of a Lottie

    05.04.10 - Easter Bank Holiday
Well, managed to dig out my third potato bed up at The Paddock. Now have Red Duke of York, Maris Peer and Pentland Javelin in the ground and Pink Fir Apple and King Edwards in bags.
P made me up two raised bed frames and we put them into place round the first to potato beds. Look good and it means I will be able to earth up without getting soil everywhere.
Mulched over with some of the grass cuttings from the pile next to the shed, and put down cardboard and paper sacks to suppress the growth of the grass on the paths.
Would have been a perfect Easter Sunday if poor Beau hadn't been attcked by the local Devil Dog while we were out on our evening walk. No damage fortunately, but it wasn't for the want of the dog trying!
Today, P, J and I went and dismantled and collected my second greenhouse! So excited. It's 6X8 and is gonna be my Tomato House! Yay! We are going to put it and my other one back to back on the new lottie so I'll have 14' of glass to grow stuff under! Double Yay!
Sweetcorn has chitted (only the new stuff - old stuff went mouldy - thought it would), so sowed it into loo rolls. I know it's early, but I plan to pot it on into some plastic long toms that I've aquired for the purpose.
Forgot to say that P and I also collected the legnth of water culvert pipe and some blue pipe from PB's field. The culvert pipe should be big enough to make three pumpkin pots!
J has also got some 12" culvert pipe that I can have for tomato/pepper/aubergine plants.
A good day, and Beau is none the worse for his ordeal.
