  • Garden/alloment shares and Community Garden clubs - Wakefield area

Sorry if in wrong section but not sure where it would go. Just putting up a post for anyone in the Wakefield area or near areas who may be interested in Garden/allotment shares and community gardening clubs.

There is a social enterprise called Incredible Edible Wakefield, they also are doing talks/garden seminars with people who are established gardeners/experts each month such as seed saving, tree grafting, beekeeping, etc. They also do guerilla planting, foraging and herb trails/walks.

Also promote local food and through food fairs with local food initiatives and also do a lot of work in schools and the community.

If you are interested please check out the link or twitter feed

^ The scheme that you volunteer or work with seems pretty interesting The Wakefield one is a bit smaller scale to the one you have up North East. Andy and Suzanne who run it are really helpful people especially with regards to newbies and people looking for plots.
