Thanks to the rain, all sorts of green things have sprung up on the lottie. Please could someone tell me what the 2 in the attached photos are? I think they're escapees friom the compost heap which is next to my plot!

The Triffid (pic 1) actually looks quite interesting, but I haven't a clue what they are, if they're edible, if they spread and if I'd want to grow them. IYSWIM

BTW, the second picture was on zoom. The leaves aren't huge at all. There's quite a large patch of it, though.

Good grief! Didn't know it grew so big - the leaves are about 2ft long!

1st on is definitely comfrey of some description - not horseradish [I know Horseradish when I see it - I'm trying to get rid of it on my lottie].....

Comfrey can get HUGE. If it's near the compost heap it's got good nutrition!

Good luck with that! It has huge roots, and usually by the time it's that size it's there for life - you can move it and it will happily grow somewhere else, but it'll probably come back in the original place too!

                        Cryptic...

Do you mean that picture 2 looks like it could be violets or that you never get rid of either of them?

That's OK - it's over the fence from me.

Meant that the second photo looks like violet. They seed around a bit and cause quite big clumps but are not too invasive.

Ah. Thanks, Paulottie. Will check it later - would love some violets but didn't realise they grew so big. What with that and the size of the comfrey, the soil back there must be incredible!!
