Now that the peppers are ripening, I have now grouped them into 10 varieties.
7B appears to be a Pot Black Cross.
Table 1 - Summary.
NB : - 6 seeds did not germinate.
Chilli Peppers.
Still to pin down 4B & 12B. They are either a Cayenne or a Ring of Fire. I have both plants from my own seed and had ruled them out in June. Shows how hard it is to identify pods.
You can't fail to identify Golden Cayenne and Pot Black, although the Pot Black Cross did cause scratching of heads because of the pretty purple & white flower - see June Blog.
TBC
7A & 5B - Still not possible to identify. They are not Ring of Fire or Cayenne. The flowers were different. Looking at the 2017 list, they could be Orange Thai or Long Green Buddha
1A. I have still to taste to confirm it is a Numex Sandia. It is different from the sweet peppers, but may just be another Palermo Red Pointed.
Sweet Peppers
I have been looking for a Polish conical pepper. The others are great salad peppers. Sweet and juicy.
In the September Blog I'll publish the full list.
Have a chilli month.
