  • Rats in compost heap

    Hi I have had rats in the compost bin, they have gone now but can i use the compost for growing veg now or is it unsafe.

    It's fine to use. What are your specific concerns about it anyway? The urine and faeces get broken down very quickly by the composting process.

      I wondered about this too.

      What if your compost is almost done ?

      Will there be enough heat to zap the nasties ?
