I'm 9 miles south of the southern edge of Sutherland but am currently in Belfast, so dunno what it was like at home - though I know it was very very chilly !

-7 at the moment, got down to -10 last night, used hot water to defrost the poly door to get, in it was a snug 48 degrees but had to leave the door open for an hour to get some cold in to do the soil some good

Minus 12 last night, minus 8 and falling at the moment.

Minus 12 here last night as well.
Today was a brilliant day with sunshine and a really clear crisp day.
Had my grand-kids for the day and we had so much fun from building a snowman to sliding down the hill on an old plastic table top.
Can't buy any of the great things I experienced today and wouldn't swap it for money if i could.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
